Missionary Sending Mass for Veronicah Neema

On February 1st, at St. John Baptist Parish in Riruta, Nairobi, a solemn Holy Mass was celebrated during which the missionary sending of our Kenyan CLM, Veronicah Neema Makori, took place. The liturgy was presided over by Fr. David Ahiro, MCCJ, who, on behalf of the Church community, imparted the blessing to Neema.

During this solemn celebration, the missionary was officially sent to undertake her missionary service in the Central African Republic, precisely in Mongoumba, where one of our international CLM communities is operating. It was a moment of deep prayer, gratitude, and joy for the gift of vocation with which God continues to bless His Church. The parish community, gathered for the Eucharist, expressed its unity by surrounding the missionary with heartfelt prayer and spiritual support.

The faithful prayed for God’s abundant graces upon Veronicah Neema Makori, asking for the light of the Holy Spirit, strength and wisdom in facing daily challenges, and protection on her path of service to the Church and to the people to whom she is sent. This celebration was also a testimony to the living faith and missionary commitment of St. John Baptist Parish in Riruta.

May the Holy Spirit continually strengthen her, and may Christ—the Supreme Missionary—guide and accompany her each day on her missionary journey.

Between eco-friendly candles, anniversaries, and many activities

June was a month full of blessings for the CLM of Guatemala, by the grace of God and under the intercession of St. Daniel Comboni, with various initiatives that marked our missionary work.

On June 7, we carried out our missionary activity in the community of León El Manzanillo. During our visit, in addition to spending time with the members of the community, we gave a talk on the Holy Spirit and Pentecost. As part of the day, we held a workshop on making eco-friendly candles, and those who participated were very enthusiastic and satisfied with the experience.

On the same date, we celebrated the 8th anniversary of the Chispuditos Program. This nutritional project has focused on the children of the villages of La Salvadora I and II, in the municipality of Santa Catarina Pinula, as well as their mothers, bringing them the Word and promoting their development as leaders. It should be noted that last year the program was handed over to the community; since then, the mothers have been leading the program.

On Sunday, June 8, we participated in the Vocational Expo organized by the Vicariate of the Center: Our Lady of the Assumption, held in the gym of Don Bosco College. This event allowed us to share with young people interested in the different congregations present. In addition to the information stands, there were moments of praise, Eucharistic adoration, and Holy Mass. It was a valuable opportunity to transmit and live the charism of the Comboni Family together with those in attendance.

A week later, on Sunday, June 15, we held our monthly community gathering, beginning with the celebration of Holy Eucharist, followed by a shared breakfast. During the gathering, we reflected on the Comboni charism and worked on a special theme about the key elements that strengthen self-esteem. We addressed aspects such as self-control, personal goals, communication skills, and body image perception. As a pleasant surprise, we had a visit from a married couple interested in learning more about our community.

In each activity of the month, we reaffirmed our commitment to serve and accompany the communities, always driven by our faith and evangelizing mission.

VI American Missionary Congress – America, with the power of the Spirit, witnesses of Christ!

Since Thursday I have witnessed the work that OMPE PUERTO RICO is doing to live our congress as a church in America.

I have had the opportunity to meet persons of the people who with their joy are able to transmit the Love and Joy of the Gospel in their work spaces.

We coincided with a group of missionary friends from different countries who gathered since Friday to be attentive and participate 100% as CAM6 congress participants, KNOWING THAT FROM YOUR HOME YOU CAN PARTICIPATE and MAKE YOUR VOICE HEARD on the topics that as a Church we are going to deal with.

A press conference has been held with those responsible for the realization of the event. Where they share the details of the topics to be discussed, who will participate and everything that the Missionary Church is interested in.
