Comboni lay missionaries currently serve in 19 countries, open to the needs of the local Church and the people who welcome us. We strive to serve those most in need, in locations where the Gospel has not been heard. As missionaries, we offer our formation and our professional experience in the service of the community.
Whenever possible, we live in community, benefiting from mutual support, formation and an international ambiance. We are communities of the new evangelization, planting the seeds for a new world.
We work in parish communities, assisting with pastoral guidance and lay formation and coordinating pastoral activities (such as family health, youth, social and liturgical).
We also engage in the social domain where we support community initiatives based on social needs (cooperatives, career centers, etc.), justice and peace, human rights, and the disadvantaged (street children, domestic violence, etc.). We work towards community development and empowerment.
We plant ourselves within the local community structures (health, education, etc.) as just another community member, supporting what already may exist, not creating new things but rather reinforcing the work being done within the local country structure.
